David, the Giant – Hide and Seek

Hide and Seek, childhood re-imagined, once again written with simplicity at the forefront the instruments should echo the lyrics which tell stories of hiding from friends, family, and falling in and out of dreams. (“I can’t find my way through life, but that’s ok, we’re only playing hide and seek” – Lyrics from “Hide and Seek”).

It was recorded between a bedroom in London and a living room in Cornwall, England and makes use of instruments from the 80s to the present. A glittering GEM Keyboard, Fuzzy 808 bass and my favorite Fender Jag guitar. All hazily played through an 8 track with just enough bounce and warp to make you feel warm inside.

David, The Giant (David Behan)

Lyrics:

Waking up in that morning light
grab a cup of juice and its all right

We don’t need the sunshine
hiding in the rough
Ill wait til you find me there
watching and watching the dust
Grow Grow, i can see you and you see me
Oh No, your smiling face and you found me

So Step Back, don’t give me a heart attack
you always running wild like your mothers child
Do you ever get the feeling you don know a lot
Like when you say your sorry for the things that your not

You friends tell me not to be mean
but why exactly?
The crisps sandwich and water fights
are they just history?

We don’t need the sunshine
hiding in the rough
I’ll wait til you find me there
watching and watching the dust
Grow Grow, i can see you and you see me
Oh No, your smiling face and you found me

I can’t find,
my way through life
but thats ok,
we only playing hide and seek

So Step Back, don’t give me a heart attack
you always running wild like a mothers child
Do Ever get the feeling you don know a lot
Like when you say your sorry for the things that your not
